The headline numbers come from school-level NAPLAN means in 2025: an average across reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy for Year 5 or Year 9. That gives a clean academic outcome snapshot, but it does not tell you whether a school is selective, unusually advantaged, or outperforming what its intake would predict.
To reduce noise, this page now only shows school-site summaries when the crawl text clears a quality gate. 97 of the 100 listed schools currently have a source-backed summary visible on the page; the rest are left blank rather than padded with low-value crawl text.

How to read the ranking
A school appearing near the top usually combines strong academic outcomes with a strong intake. That does not make the result unimportant, but it does mean the ranking is better used for discovery than for final judgement.

A note on what 'top' means
High raw NAPLAN scores often follow high ICSEA. A school topping this list is not necessarily teaching better than a school 200 places below; it may simply be enrolling students whose home environment already supports the test outcome. Use the ICSEA column as a calibration: a 1140-ICSEA school scoring 580 is doing what its profile predicts; a 1010-ICSEA school scoring 580 is likely doing something unusually effective. That is still an interpretation, not a final verdict on school quality.

How were the school summaries chosen?
They are drawn from the school’s own published pages, but not every crawl excerpt is good enough to surface. We now keep only summaries that look like clean programme or positioning text and suppress admin-style fragments, annual-report boilerplate, or contact-page noise.
Why is my school missing from the list or missing a summary?

In practice, a tag usually means the school visibly mentions that area in its published programme pages. It does not tell you the depth, staffing, or continuity of the offering, so those details still need direct checking.
